I have a N tractor that is starting to run bad, I'm sure it's in need of a rebuild, where can I find bearings and stuff?

Rod..... ...what makes you think you need an engine rebuild? Have you performed the dreaded engine compression test? Ford specs: 90psi min (dry). What is your oilgauge pressure when HOT? Is it HARD to start? Does it burn oil and foul sparkplugs?

While N-Engines are relative simple to overhaul, theres alotta reasons they start to run bad and are NOT THE REASON to overhaul an engine. Of course, there is NO LAW that sez you can't overhaul yer engine iff'n you just want the excercise and expense.

Engine overhaul kits are readily availible from sponsors of this great N-Board (give'm yer business) prices and quality are the same because they all sell the same kit. (about $450, cheap) Kits include NEW SLEEVES, pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets. WAIT until AFTER the machineshop does yer crankshaft so you can order the "correct-size" bearings..... .....Dell

The problem with Ebay when purchasing regularly available items is that rarely can you return items for credit or exchange if there's a problem. Warranty is also rare.
It's better to purchase parts from established businesses who have a vested interest in STAYING in business and need your good will for future sales/customers.I purchased my overhaul/rebuild parts both at this website and at A&I and I rec'd excellent service and cheerful exchange attitudes when parts weren't just exactly right. (I also broke a sleeve installing it and it was a simple matter to get another one shipped. Try THAT at Ebay.) While Ebay is sometimes used by established businesses....Ebay is primarily an avenue for upstart and temporary businesses or for individuals unloading unwanted items. There's little chance you'll get good service if you make any error in determining your needs.

A total rebuild kit is listed on this site for 416.36. Just go to tractor parts,in market place, you'll find it.

Everywhere from right here ( this forums store ).. to other online businesses.. or even your NH dealer. Heck.. your machinist can/should be able to order parts as well.. though i usually like to have a number in mind so that they don't / can't blatently try to rip me off.

When you say that it is starting to run bad.. Is it possible it could simple need a tune up and some consumables replaced?

A bad set of 2$ points will make a brand spankin' new engine run horribly...
