I ran across a torque wrench today rated at 600 ft/lbs. Military surplus from the Air Force. About four feet long with 3/4 inch drive. Perfect for that rear axle nut that causes so much concern. I didn't ask how much it was because it looked like it cost more than an 8N. I guess I'll keep bouncing up and down on a cheater bar unless I hit the lottery.

I"ll let you in on a professional secret. There is only one torque setting to be applied all fasteners. "Torque to 3/4 turn past stripped and back off 1 full turn". No Torque Wrench Needed.
