Why does it only have six (6) header pipes if it is a V8?

Cause when Henry's boys designed it they could only afford three holes for the exhaust on each side of the flathead block. Seriously, it has a siamese exhaust port in the center on each side.

Of course I am looking at a picture but the pipes all look the same size. I would think that would cause more back pressue on the twin ports.

They get around the back pressure issue by making sure the firing order is such that the two cylinders sharing an exhaust pipe don't fire together or even sequentially.

Yeah, I have also read about internal baffels people install in the siamese port on flathead sites.

As Raytasch said that super fine looking V-8 8N is owned by a man from nearby Sanford, FL and he and his young family bring it to most all Florida Flywheeler events along with another 8N and a Ford FWD Doodlebug that are nearly as well done! He is constantly adding more to the tractor in the photos, some of the later additions are a lot more chrome and all chrome spoke front wheels with old Ford V-8 hubcaps, really cool additions.

HUH, I look out at mine, and while I'm no fan of restoration for restoration sake, I'd gladly own that to rev it up and listen to it. Good lord man, you can't hang that carrot in front of my nose and not fee guilty. LOL That is sweet, I'd be willing to house that puppy and never put it to work. Thanx for the pic.

While it does look impressive, other than revving it up and listening to some sweet sounds of flathead power, I cannot imagine attempting to use a fraction of that horsepower with an N tractor unless there was also some super upgrades in the clutch, gearbox and rear end. Now, I would like to have that set up in a 50 Mercury sled! Wonder how much HP it develops?

Yep, that is one nice unit. It has been around the central FL shows for several years. There are some equally nice and nicer stockers around the area.

Thats the owner behind the hood with hat and sun glasses, another N of his behind in the upper right. Taken at FL Flywheelers featuring Ford Fordson Collectors Assc meet two years ago. Many of the posters present and past on this board were there.
