This is just a little something I thougth I'd share. My old N been running great but lately I had begin to notice that while plowing the engine would try to lug down before the wheels would try to spin in hard soil. This got me to thinking maybe the governor wasn't responding soon enough. So I took it apart and found It was badly worn. I was going to rebuild it but the inner lever was so badly worn I just opted to buy a whole new governor.I got one from Just 8 N'S and it's like driving a whole other tractor.I guess the power loss from the old governor was so gradual that I didn't notice till it got so bad.Now it pulls or spins but the engine never falters.

Thanks Phil for sharing that with us, I know somethings like that do gradually get worse with- out notice and then get so bad you wonder how the tractor even ran. I had the same thing with my distributor weights, found they were rusted solid.
