Do they make an engine block heater for a 8N? Ol' Betsy didn't want to start real easy during this cold Michigan winter.

Thanks!

Paul

Paul..... ...unfortunately, the N-Block does NOT have room behind the freeze plugs for a block heater. I recommend a MAGNETIC BLOCK HEATER for the exterior of the oilpan. Warm oil allows the engine to turn over so much faster. I do NOT recomment the popular radiator hoze heaters 'cuz they leak all the heat out the radiator. (thats what radiators are designed to do)..... ....Dell

And the oil dipstick heaters just sizzle the oil surrounding the dipstick heater. Burns it to coke. (And in really cold weather leaves the oil in passages congealed.) Not good.
Put a blanket over/infront of the radiator if you use the radiator-hose type heater and they"ll do better. But the best system is probably to use both the magnetic and the coolant type heaters in conjunction if the little lady won"t let you bring it inside the living room by the fireplace. ;Þ

I was never impressed with the external magnetic heater.

A lower radiator hose heater draws water from the radiator, heats it and sends it into the engine via the water pump.

I just want to get the oil warm - e.g. put a timer n the heater for say, i hour, to get it warm, not hot - does this still create the oil over heating problem?
