I am looking for the torque specs for the nuts going onto the intake/exhaust manifold for a 9N. My service manuals has conveniently left them out of the book. Hummmpf! Imagine that, more book sales.

If anyone could help me out, I would be appreciative of your help

Thanks

Rodger..... ..my Boeing design manual states for 7/16 X 20 Brass 5/8 hex nut (warning: common brass 7/16 nut is 11/16 hex and will not fit the Ford exhaust manifold), torque 27 ft/lbs.

This has been addressed many times in the past, you might want to check the "archives" at the top of this great N-Board.

Donna use steel nuts ona exhaust as they will seaze together and if'n ya donna brake the manifold stud inna the block, you will onna the other studs.

Brass nuts are used because brass will strip first and then all you have to do is run a cleaning thread die down the stud still in the block. Beats drilling out a broken-off stud..... ...Dell
