Hey !!!!! !!!!! !!!!! check this out. I"ve made an original looking ALUMINUM PTO cover for the early 9N Ford Ferguson Tractors. I posted a picture in the Parts & Pieces forum. Let me know what you guys think????? ????? ?? This is for us originaly guided people ONLY. As you know if you don"t care about being original you could put a coffee can or duct tape over your shaft.. Thanks.... Jason Grooms aka Jagperf@aol.com.. aka ( Jason"s Performance)

Hey Jason-
Here's your picture. Very nice job. I have made several OEM Ford Tractor parts too on CNC Turn-Mills and lathes as my day job as a CNC Process/Mfg. Engineer for 33 years. I just make them for me and friends-don't go all kattywompous and try to compete with Dennis...

Hey Shenandoah-
I don't know what you did, but here is the correct procedure to add a picture with your post:

First, post your picture on the Tractor Photos, Vintage Photos or Implement Photos on the left side of this page.
Next, Go to your picture, postion arrow anywhere on picture and RIGHT CLICK mouse.
A menu appears, scroll down to "PROPERTIES", and left click that.
ANother menu appears, scroll to "ADDRESS (URL)" and hold left button down to highlight entire statement that begins with "http://" and ends with ".jpg"
When it is highlighted in blue, put mouse arrow on the blue and right click your mouse and get a menu , select COPY from the list. Clsoe this box.
Go back to your post and in the box below where it says OPTIONAL IMAGE URL, right click your mouse, select PASTE from the list and left click it to insert your info there. HTH

Super nice!!!
Now all you need to do is make a 2 piece mold out of some clay or plaster.. and leave the thread areak built up and blank.. then pour with metal of choice.. like brass / aluminum / cast.. etc. Then machine the threads and go.. should be way easier than turning them out on a C&C machine or lathe..

Again.. super nice.

Now you just need to blast it with some heavy shot to give the exterior that rough cast look. Still, very nice but I don't see how that one DIDN'T cost 80-100 bucks to make!

Hey Jeb-
Actually the only real cost would be the material if'N you have access to a CNC Turn-Mill which is what I do a lot of (programming). The time to program it, set it up and machine would be expensive to an outside customer, but, you would quote it at several pieces for production which would bring the cost per part down considerably. I have made several OEM parts like this on my own time and buying my own material. I nake parts for my 8N and Dearborn plows and such just like the originals, on CNC machines. I can spit out washers or bolts or nuts or bearings or caps or whatever at several per minute. By the way, a Turn-Mill is a lathe and a mill combined- 7-Axis Multi-Function Machining. Henry Ford would've made a profit on th N's had he had this technology back then...
