I just purchased 8n s/n # *8n153554* and have a problem with the lift. It lifts really well but will not go back down when the lever is pushed down. Overnight it goes all the way down. This makes it tough to use implements. Any ideas?

Just an idea..my 2n acted like that so I took off the dipstick cover and moved the long arm that goes from the top cover to the pump. It went down.I loosened the yolk spring tension a turn and that fixed her.LOL

Okie,
just put my hydraulic pump back together with new gaskets and sealant. was having trouble lifing round bales, the oil was contaminated with water. put 90 weight back in, it won't lift but goes down alot slower. if its cold and the oil is thick it may be passing through the exhaust valve slow.

I am lifting close to 1000 lb bales, lifted before this a recent problem. Oil was milky, did not see any cracks.
