started tractor notice there was no oil preasure
registering on gauge. removed oil line from gauge
no oil pumping. I recently changed oil and filter
the tractor had been sitting for sometime. Manual doesn"t show oil routing. Looking for ideas before tearing down? Maybe there"s something I am overlooking?

You may have answered your own question.
When you changed oil and filter did you fill the filter canister with oil? It will take a few seconds for the pump to fill the system.
Or, you may have accidently jammed the drain plug screen against the oil pick-up tube and cracked the pipe at the pump.

Roger..... ..ya done went an lost yer oilpump prime. Worn tractors that set for a long time do that. Changing oil/filter is good but really has nuttin to do with loosing prime.

Look for a BIG bolt head behind yer waterpump. It is the oilpressure relief valve. It is springloaded and yes it is supposed to have a flatspot on its side. Pour/squirt some HEAVY OIL into your oilpressure relief valve hole and it will prime yer pump.

Do not use regular engine oil as it will leak out before you gitta chance to run around and start yer engine. A little heavy oil ain't gonna hurt nuttin. I use heavy 140wt outboard motorboat lower unit oil in a pointed plastic squeeze'm tube. Simple, eh?..... ...Dell
