Carb Adjustment

Recently rebuilt the carb on the Jubilee. Now, when I start it up, I need to give about a 1/3 choke for the first 2-3 minutes of operation.

Is there an adjustment that I can or should make to fix this? What is it?

Thanks.

This can sometimes be caused by a tad lean setting of the idle mixture adjustment. The book says to adjust that at normal operating temp, but sometimes you have to find a happy medium. HTH

My 660 requires 1/4 to 1/3 choke for about 30 seconds or so after starting... My 8n/2n/naa don't need it.

Once that 30 seconds is over it works great.

Soundguy should also mention he is in Florida. Just a tad more temperate than Vermont at this time of year.

Rusty..... ..ALL COLD ENGINES need enriched carb mixture for a few minutes after starting. Even new fuel injected automobiles have automatic choke schemes.

As for wheather yer needing 1/3 choke for 2 minutes is excessive or more like normal, I'm unable to quantify. What and why did you rebuild yer carb? And while you may have leaned out yer carb a touch, I am skeptical based upon the vague description of yer problem that you provided..... ....respectfully, Dell
