My 8N runs great except when I put a load on the engine (such as when I"m disking) Radiator boils over. Since I have no temp gauge on the tractor I don"t know if I"m operating it at too high a temperature. Shouldn"t the radiator cap seal and pressurize the system? If so , how can I get a better seal?

Chances are you have over-filled the radiator, like Danny sez. Or, you have a slipping fan belt or debris in the front of the radiator. Less likely, but possible, is a stuck thermostat. If it's the thermostat, make sure you replace it; you will get abnormal engine wear from running w/o one as the cylinders will be operating at different temps. Finally, at the bottom of the probability list, is a clogged radiator or water jacket in the block. These old radiators do not take well to cleaning, so worst case is a new radiator. Cap is 4 lb.

Don't fill your radiator to the top or it will boil over. I run mine about 6-8" below the cap level with no problems.
