Been a'craving a small v8 60 for a conversion on an 8n without all that stretching, pulling, cutting, drilling, etc. Thanks to this board two good contacts have done so and told me how so. Now its my turn. Got my v8 60 today from friend about 5 miles away who decided to sell at same time I asked to buy. I think you understand what I mean: timing! He had it set up for propane for shows. Runs like a dream! He has carb and cast heads also. But I think the aluminum heads and manifold will polish out real pretty. I'll keep you'uns abreast of it as Pamela Anderson would say. Photos as we progress. Next step: find the cradle and adapter kit. oz

Couple questions, Oz. Are those dyno tuned headers and what will that rig do in a quarter mile?

Its from a 1937 Ford sedan. Ford made an 85 hp and 60 hp V8 from 1937-1940, but the 60's didn't find much favor bacause they were too weak to pull a vehicle that then weighed 3-3,500 lbs. But in later years they were enormous hits as power for midget racers and some racing boats. They are now in very short supply and bring a premium. They make an ideal 8n coversion because they fit perfectly in the space of the old engine except for a support cradle and adapter plates and a couple of other minor modifications. there is no requirement for widening or lengthening the hood, radius arms, steering rods, etc. Great project! oz

Once you post the picture, go back in and look at it. Right click on the picture with your mouse and go to "Properties". Then highlight the web address and right click again and select "Copy". Then when you make your post, click on the "Optional Image URL" box at the bottom, right click your mouse again, and select "Paste". It will put the web address of where that picture is and post the image on your message.

HTH,
Dan
