Prince8n,most average tool chest will get you through with the vast knowledge of this board. You can do it.I had a "friend" to help me with my 1st. one.Done 2 since. Not professional mind you but they perform nicely at tractor meets so I'm pleased.Bring your questions (and frustrations) here and these fellas will help you.I've even heard ones that have used the vidios and seem to like those.

The biggest tool you need is this board, and it's free. Ask a lot of questions as you go.

I would recommend that you go and buy a set of "Stud Extractors" from Harbor Freight. They look like a set of sockets with 3 long, skinny, rods inside. As you turn the "socket", the rods actually clamp down on the studs down the entire length of the socket so the stud is much less likely to break off than the old double-nut method. And, at harbor freight, a set (4 sockets) is only like $15. Well worth it for what they do in my opinion!

and tappet wrenches. My dad used to tan my hide when he caught me using the special tappet wrenches on plain old ordinary nuts and bolts. Sumptin about being shaped just right and not too thick or too deep....I dunno....but you know how it is....tell a kid not to use sumptin....and oh well...I finally figured it out...and it only took me 25 years!

a small atv/motorcycle jack works great when splitting the tractor (personally i went to a saw mill and bought 2-16"x16"x24" blocks but i also have a forklift to do all my lifting)you wont need a big set of 1/2" drive sockets but you will need a 1 1/16" to get the big bolt off the crank (front) the rest of the hand tools will be a normal set of tools SAE

My stock crown head (for a hand crank) crank bolt for my NAA was 1 5/16" - I had to go buy a special socket just for that sucker!

Hi Prince! A good torque wrench is a valuable investment. Valve spring compressor and piston ring expander tools could probably get from a loaner program at an auto parts store. I think Auto Zone and others do it. Good luck.
