How hard is it to change the PTO shaft oil seals? I'm gonna pull the shaft for inspection anyhow, and have the hyd unit open, can I expect to change both seals without major difficulty?

Ramrod, I'm having to replace the oil seal in the pto on my 8n. I removed my shaft (no difficulty)and used a water pipe coupling as a driftto remove parts.Everything seems in order except the oil seal. This seal has a front and rear side.I've cheated here a little but only for a short time.I took this seal and removed the "spring" from the inside and shortened about 3/8 in. and replaced and now it doesn't leak anymore.I am going to replace it and the bearings anyway. No bandaid here. you can do it.
