I had my NAA radiator re-cored this summer, $200 in Ann Arbor Michigan (A & B radiator). My guy said "after market stuff is cheap foreign junk that wont fit right anayways". Hop this helps.

The original N radiator can be recored. If yours is bad the original top rounded tank would be near impossible to duplicate. Our local repair shop has replicated the bottom tank on several occasions but won't try the top.

I put a new USA made radiator in an 8N last summer It cost $191.04. The foreign one would have been $137.11. You can get it from Temco part number 11A151USA. It is not as good as an original but it is better than a foreign one.

I just picked up my freshly re-cored 8N radiator this afternoon. When I walked in to the shop with it last Saturday, the old guy at the counter looked at it and said "Ford Tractor - I just finished another one of those".

definately find another shop (hint: look for a radiator shop that has the oldest run down building you can find) sounds nutty but thats where the oldtimers are and they are not afraid to help the little guy with a radiator problem and most of the time they charge very little and if you pay in greenbacks they work for even less
(cash, no ticket, good workmanship, thats my kind of shop, i would rather spend my time working than doing the paperwork for uncle sam)

DrM,
I"d ask for a second opinion. Preferably from somebody over 60.

these guys are right, you need a radiator shop with an old man in it, old men are good as gold , they have been up the trail and over the mountain, more than once, they have the knowledge to do the job, and almost always know who has a cache of the right parts for the job at hand, young ones want to do the job in 1/2 hour and charge for 2, and if its over 10 years old they have never seen one before, i ran into a pimple faced clerk in checker auto parts store who didn't know ford ever made a tractor, and it wasn't in his computer either, ericlb
