After 13 years as a exellent working tractor my 8N starts on the 1st crank and runs maybe 3 minutes real good and then stalls and will not start, till 20 minutes later then does the same thing. I replaced the carburator but still does this. I did'nt start it all winter. help

Deffinately pull the plug onthe bottom of the carb and check fuel flow. If it trickles to a stop.. your machine is not flooding out.. but rather leaning out and starveing for fuel.. then you let it set and the carb bowl fills back up. Could be as brusce said.. a clogged screen.. or even a stuck float.. bad float.. or bad float seat/needle. ( viton needles sometimes stick.. etc )

The general rule of thumb on a 3 minute run time & starts later is bad fuel screens. The N has 3; one in the tank (don't worry about it) in the top of the sediment bowl & in the brass elbow going into the carb. Remove & clean/replace the screen in the sediment bowl & brass elbow. Before you put the elbow back in the carb, turn the gas on & make sure you have a good gas flow. If not, you may need to pull the sediment bowl out of the gas tank & clean that screen.
