The Sherman may still be bent a little, but first I am going to mount a 3 (or 4) x 6 braket and try to raise the tool box 2-3 inches to see if it clears the shifter. I dont want to get it too high but I dont need to get in and out of the toolbox all the time, though I do want to get a set of the basic tools that came with the tractor, I think it was a furrow wrench and a pliers, maybe anything with a Script Ford Logo from eBay just to go inside for the period.

The inside is cleaned up also, but needs some Dremel work in the tight spaces, gotta do it right.

Here is the toolbox after I electrocuted it for about 20 hours, then hit it with the wire wheel. I still need to clean the inside of the box out as I cant get the wire wheel inside to do a proper job.

Next comes the prime and paint. I will post a picture then also.

Thanks for your hints and helps everyone.

James,

Nice job!! I'm going to have to get myself set-up for the "electro" job. Did you take a pic just after it came out of the electro bath??

nice! I use a chemical called "ospho" to kill rust, when in the end leaves a clear primer base for paint to adhere too. I dont have any long term results to report, but I do know its used in marine industry (on the water) and everyeone I've talked to seems to use and like the stuff!
good luck
the box looks great!
Ben

I used Ospho on Model A fenders and bodies 35 years ago and the paint hasn't shown any problems yet. I am prepared to wait.....to see if it is really good....
