Hi Friends:
'52 8n
My left rear wheel locks up when I try to move forward. Turns freely in reverse however.
What could the problem be? Right side is fine.

I sincerely hope it's brake shoe related and not at tranny problem. Have not done any tear down yet 'cause I wanted to get some in-put first.

My did the same thing. It was the spider gears - all busted up. Please stop and check it out now! I did not and it cost me the ring and pinion and almost the rear casting.

Ray,
Check this thread from the archives. I believe Dell has the most likely answer. Easy to check after the wheel is off and ya get them darn big flathead screws out so ya can remove the drum. Them screws can be a bear, PB Blaster and a BIG screwdriver should work.

My tries to do the same thing after I cleaned off the brake fluid on the left side, I know I adjusted the shoes to tight.
It wasn't that hard a job to jack up and pull the wheel. Try to loosen shoes first.
