8N brakes

Since the weather was unbelievably spring-like yesterday (didn't last long), I decided to start the brake and seal job on my 8N. To my surprise it looked like a pretty recent job that I am having to redo. One hub is bad and I will replace it and the other looked new (although it popped right off without a puller) The axles look good. I noticed that my brakes had two springs on each side and the manual states that one side gets three return springs. Was this the case on all 8Ns and does anybody have a picture showing how the 3-spring side is supposed to go together?

Thanks-
Paul

Paul, both sides of my 48 had only two springs on them and it seems to work just fine. James

Paul, my 48 had 3springs on one side and 2 on the other. In the master parts book it also shows 3.If one looks close in the IT-O book it also shows 3springs.It would (I assume) work with only 2springs on each side.I went back with 3 and 2.
