I got my tractor back together and it just aint right. I was wondering if you have anybody in your area that would work on this thing for me and not rip me off and know what they are doing.
I can't get anybody hear to work on it that knows what they are doing or not to lazy to want to work.I think it still needs a valve job and the lifters are still a little noisy but they are adjustible. I have a head bolt leaking antifreeze
so it will probably need new head studs. And it may need a good tune up also.Let me know if you know anybody I'll bring it up on the flat bed but I"m not going to have time to work on it for another month and I'd like to have it befor spring sets in more.

Put some teflon thread seal PASTE on the threads of the stud, and reinstall it, and you'll have no more leaks.

As far as the valve tappets making a little noise, it is better that they are a little loose and noisy than too tight!

If they're set too tight, they'll burn a valve, if they are set a little loose, and are a little noisy, they'll last a lifetime, or until you find time to set them, which ever comes first! People get so used to the newer stuff with hydraulic lifters, they don't realize it's OK when the older stuff makes a little noise!
