Drove the Jubilee home this afternoon. There won't be much rust as it has been well protected with paint. So much paint that I could not read the gear selectors and drove it several miles in 1st gear, then the rest of the way home in 3rd. Fortunately I was able to make all but a few hundred yards via back roads.

First question: The seller said the vane type hydraulic pump had been replaced by the newer type. Does the photo agree with this?

Paul -Congrats on getting the Jubilee. Sheet metal looks good and looks like you even have a toolbox under the left running board. Don't find too many that aren't rusted out. You definately have a piston type pump. Where does the hydraulic line coming from your lift cover go. I haven't seen a set-up like this before. Best of luck - I know you'll really enjoy your tractor once you become acquainted. Be sure to get an I&T FO-19 manual for her and give her a name.

Mike...That hydraulic line just ends. Probably was to a front end loader or something?

Thanks for identifying that it is indeed an upgraded pump.

As you can see by the photos, she is well protected with paint...lots of it. I have worse problems to deal with, like rims to replace and steering sector to check and probably replace on Dad's 2N, get the 640 running and finding out why there seems to be no battery charging, why the oil pressure is so high & where the coolant is going on this one. (Tractor doesn't overheat, got a proper pressure cap for her today...hope that's all that's wrong there...the old one had no rubber seal).

Another picture (the other side). What does the range lever tell about the transmission type?

Okay, if it's an under/over/direct Sherman, should it work a rototiller in low?

Thanks,

Paul

Paul..... ..unfortunately, the 3-speed "Sherman" aux tranny in low gear slows down the PTO too. The only "cure" is the rare and fragle "Howard" aux tranny which mounts between the tranny and the differential gear. N-Tractor are really not a rototillering machine but they are an excellent 2-bottom plowing machine..... ..Dell

Think I just found the answer to my own question at Link . Looks like the pto also gets slowed down, so maybe it's not gonna work (unless I regear a tiller).

Thats a Sherman lever, looks same as over-under-direct. It has two positions for over-under then in center should pull out and pivot for direct. If you had it in under and trans in low you wouldn't be home yet.

The lever is of the type that is often connected to a over-under-direct Sherman.
