I also posted this on the IH board but have a 50's model H sittin in the woods with the sheet metal in my old fallen barn. Considered sending the whole thing to compacter but figured some folks may could use some parts. My question is the old gal useful for big parts such as fenders rails wheel weights back half etc. How do I price this kinda stuff. Is it worth puttin on ebay??

There are a LOT of H's out there I have 2 myself. Sell it whole or for parts, Please do not scrap it. I see alot of parts on Ebay, even bought a few.

There are collectors for everything, even IH tractors. Many of these tractors are still in use today as well. Went to a couple auctions here in the midwest and running H's bring anywhere from $700 to $1500. Saw one that didn't run and had been sitting a while bring $250, but I thought that was low as it looked to be in good shape. If it has fenders, they are definitely worth money, as most H's don't have them and are sought by collectors. If it is a Super H, it is worth more than a standard H as there are fewer of those around and they had live hydraulics. If it is a 1939 (first year), those are definitely worth more to collectors.

Try selling the complete tractor on Ebay or in local ads. Might get a few hundred bucks out of it depending on the condition. I would hate to see another tractor taken to the scrap yard.

Looks to be like it has connections coming out of the tranny for hydraulic fittings. Just infront of the belt pully.

That sounds like the standard belly mount hydraulic pump, which is not live (similar to a Ford). The live pump was placed between the ignition distributer and engine block with hoses running back. Sounds like a "straight" H.

Give it to Dan (see "Project Rustbucket"). He"ll make a new tractor out of it.

I'd post it on this site, I'm sure some one would pay you scrap price for it just to make sure it doesn't go to china. If you where close enough to me I'd probably buy it
