I just ordered a Zane Thang for my 1940 9N. Are there any little secrets that I need to know when installing it on my tractor ? This thing (thang as we say in NC) sounds almost too good to be true. I"ve seen a lot of posts on it but I need all the help I can get, as this is my first and probably only tractor. All help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all. This sounds like something that even I can install. I'll let y'all know how it goes, when it arrives.

Zane Thang roll call! in reply to Wm from NC, 03-23-2005 15:10:01
I got one back in 2000, even a novice like me was able to install it in the time it took to drink a beer. No secrets necessary, just marvel at your "new " tractor once you get 'er installed. Money well spent. Once you start using your ZaneThang, you'll wonder how you ever managed without it.

I too thought it sounded too good to be true--- it is every bit as good or better than expected-- I use it with a rear landscape blade to drag my driveway--1 mile long-- no humps or bumps it leveled all out-- it is on my 1941 9N

Dear Wm.

I bought one about a year ago and Zane sends a set of pictures with the device. The pictures explain it very well. I think it took me about 10-15 min. to install it. The only real adjustment needed was the friction device which you will see once you install it. I know you will enjoy using it because it works very well.

I didn't say that I didn't think it would work. I just pleasantly asked if there were any little thangs that may help me with the installation, that someone may have discovered while installing theirs. I don't claim to be a mechanic, and need any help anyone can offer.
