My 8N will only lift half way up, But if you drop the lift arms all the way down to the ground, the lift will lift all the way up and hold. Once you drop the lift arms, they will not raise over half way unless the lift arms are dropped all the way down to the ground. The lift arms usually won"t drop down far enough with an implement installed to raise fully. Any ideas. Thanks, Terry (IN)

My 861 was doing a similar thing. I bought the gauges and instructions from Zane (he throws in a cam follower pin). Tore it apart yesterday. The cam follower pin was worn down to about 1/8" left on the pin! I reached in to tug on it and it broke off. I do not know what was keeping it together! Put in a new pin, followed his alignment procedure and... Walla! It simply works great!

A couple of weeks ago, I did this to one of my 8Ns... same thing... cam follower pin was worn... not real bad. But, bad enough that a proper operation was elluding me. Used Zane's alignment tools, new pin... great results!

I highly recommend to anyone that has a lift issue to seek out help from Zane.

Patrick

Could be that the cam follower pin/dowel is slipping off the cam when it is trying to raise the lift in position control mode. This condition is usually caused whent the position control mechanism/linkage becomes badly worn and where it pivots has too much wear in it and is letting it push off to the side.

See the link below for a jig and adjusting booklet for the 8N lift

Zane, Come to think of it, my draft control doesn't seem to be working.
