Hi y"all. Just purchased my first old tractor ("53 Golden Jubilee and am going to start the long process of restoring her. Found that she has the Monroe EZ Ride seat that needs some work (as well as everything else). Found the P/N for the shock and shock bushing searching the forum but need to know if anyone has figured out a source for the rubber bushings that go into the front mount? What about a source for the coil spring? When I sit on her it bottoms out and I"m not that big a boy (175 Lbs.). Will the new shock keep her from bottoming out?
This site is a great source of info and I"ll probably be spending a lot of time here so thanks to all you resident experts in advance!!!

Best Regards,
Randy

The shocks that go on these are hydraulic shocks. as opposed to a gas shock. A hydraulic shock will just dampen or provide resistance to movement. so the answer to your question is no the shock wont really help it from bottoming out. I'm not sure if the repalcement shick number you have is for a gas or hydraulic on though so check it out. You may be able to put some rubber bumpers in between the coils to give a little more lift??? HTH Tim

Good luck trying to find those bushings. I was told that it was an aftermarket dealer option. I was unable to find them. I ended up cutting the old tube off and remodified the design. Instead of rubber bushings I used Delrin. It's a machineable plastic with good lubricating properties. I machined the steel tube and Delrin so that they fit together tight(pressed). Check out the pic.
