Skotibouy, your a little vague here. After it starts if you allow it to run a while (no not an hour)in a couple or three min.would it show pressure then? If you open the pressure regulater and removed the little spring and plunger then put about 2spoons of heavy oil then put back togather, start it up would the pressure come right up? Not a PRO but it seems it's loosing it's prime.Something loose causing oil to flow back into pan.

It is possible that you have a break in the oil pump pickup tube and it is letting the oil drain out of the pump, you are in for an oil pan removal to check the tube for cracks or splits. If the tube is broken you can sometimes feel it when you put your finger in the oil drain plug hole if the tube moves it is definately broken.

Could be several things. One could be a bad oil pressure gauge. Broken or loose pick-up tube going to the pump, or even too light a weight of oil. I'm thinking maybe your gauge is bad.

Mike, i noticed your post regarding oil pressure problem someone was having and you mentioned perhaps he was using too light of oil. I bought a 1951 8N recently and was wondering if you could tell me what kind of oil I need in mine. The oil it has now is awful thin I think. thanks.

rangel- my answer to you could open up a can of worms. Seems like everyone has their favorite weight and brand of oil. Almost like getting into a discussion over religion or politics. I can only tell you what I use and am happy with. I use 30 weight non detergent oil in my Jubilee year round. When I used to use it in the winter months I would change to 10 weight in the fall. Brand is what ever I can find at the time I am buying. In my 8N with a completely rebuilt engine I use 15W40 weight; New Holland oil. Neither tractor really gets used that much, and if they did, maybe I"d use something else; at least in the Jubilee. I think it is equally important if not more important to make frequent oil and filter changes. In my case with less than 50 hours use a year, I make my changes once a year. Many suggest in the fall; I make mine in the spring. My feelings are that none of the major brands of oils sold today are bad, only some are better than others depending on climate and temperature, use of and condition of equipment, season, and frequency of oil changes among other things. These are my opinions and are based on what has worked for me. You may experience other results.
Good luck with you tractor and have fun with it.
