My father and I are in the process of doing a show restoration on what I think is a 1941 9N Ford. We took the front axle apart last weekend and the pivot pin does not look like the pins in the various parts catalogs. It is completely cylindrical with a hole for the crank in the front and the back end is open. It does not have the tab with the bolt hole in the front and it is held in place by a bolt that goes through the top of the front axle support and through a drilled hole in the side of the pin. We measured the pin diameter and it is 1.745 so it looks like it is the same diameter as the new style pins. The pin is badly worn on the axle bushing area and needs to be replaced. I would really like to get one like the old one. Anyone know if/where I could find pin?

Thanks for your help. I really enjoy this board.

Paul K.

That is the 9N style pin and the other is the 2N style pin, I have both, a 44 2N with the new pin that we replaced some 20 year ago and a 41 9N with the old style wore pin but I am just going to replace the bearing when I get it together after rebuilding the engine for a use tractor
