Need a hone for the new valve guides on a front model 8n. Anybody know where I can get one?
Thanks, Rikiz

Rikiz -- most good tool stores have hand reamers that you could use. Either straight ones of different sizes, or adjustable ones. Either is capable of doing a good job. My question is, why do your valve guides need "honing" ?? Normally, the correct new valve for the engine will fit the correct new valve guide. If either of the parts is "used", there is already wear and greater clearance than you probably want. There are a couple of different way to check the clearance present. One is to use a "plug gauge" on the guide and "mike" the valve stem, and then compare the readings to determine the difference. Another way is to put the valve in the guide and then put a "dial indicator on the edge of the valve and move the valve side to side to determine the clearance. Just some things to consider. Thanks for your comments. I have already tried 2 auto parts stores, but there are others in the area that may have what's needed. We'll try those next. Anyhow, the valves and guides are all new, and for whatever reason there is just a small amount of resistance when they're put together. Thanks again, Rikiz
