Where is the test port and how do you hook to it

Where is the hydraulic test port on my 49 8N.
I have looked all over under the seat area and
I haven't found anything resembling a hydro port.

I looked in the FO4 manual and it shows it as
inside the rear end on top of the pump.
If this is it, then how do I hook up to it
so I can run other hydraulics.

If you will click on the link below you can read about my "magic" LIVE THANG live hydraulic attachment that allows you to use the lift without the PTO engaged and you can also use any remote cylinders you want with the addition of control valve/s

Take care on that thread because it"s a bolt thread and not a pipe thread like most off-the-shelf fittings.

You don"t want to strip that puppy.

Its a big bolt sticking out of the forward corner of the hydraulic pump housing, underneath your right foot. You can connect to it by removing the bolt (which serves as a plug) and attaching the appropriate plumbing fittings to the port which will allow you to operate whatever it is you are hooking up to it.

Note, you have to chain down your 3 point lift arms when you do this, so the hydraulic pressure flows to your implement instead of the lift cylinder.

What are you trying to connect to this, anyhow, just curious.

I will probably never hook anything to it.
But I have been thinking about swapping out my
top link with a small hydro cylinder.
I have had to adjust it a lot lately.
Mite come up with other ideas as well.

Do you have to chain down the arms
or can you just let the lift go all the way up
then operate what else is needed.

That test port is ot going to work for a top-n-tilt setup. The testport is only powered when the arms are chained down, and the hytrol lever is up. if the arms go up.. they turn the pump off when they reach max travel.

You'd be better off getting an aux hyd pump like a zane: live thang that was engine run.. or even one of those '12v ready power' portable hyd units with built in electric hydro pump spool valve, resevoir, and remote ports. The kinde look like a starter motor fitted to a milk jug. We have one on a truck at work as it's 'wet kit' Unit is small not much bigger than a 2 liter sode bottle with a small bulge on one end.. great for small da or sa cyls that don't need more than a quart of oil..

Pooh..... ....pressure testport return depends upon its usage. As a TESTPORT, it is 1-way and hydraulic pressure/fluid is returned the same way it gott there.

On the otherhand, iff'n yer lookin' to use that weaksister internal hydraulic power (2.8gpm & 1500psi) thru some sorta external flowcontrol lever, there are 2-different types of controllers, closed center and open center. OPEN center requires a return which is usually rigged thru the tranny fill'em-up cap by the trannys shifter..... ..Dell, the hydraulicly challenged

You maybe want to talk with Zane about this, he's way more up on the hydraulic stuff than I am , but in general I dont think most folks who have done this use a return line. Gravity pushes the load back down which forces the fluid back through the same hydraulic line, when you open the control valve up via the tractor's hydraulic control.

I think you would find operation would be somewhat erratic if you try to run without chaining those lift arms down.
