Throught with Champion plugs. Just tuned my 2N with everything new down the line from Resister to distributor components. Developed a skip that was driving me crazy. Checked everything down the list. Thought I had a bad wire, bad cap, bad valve, bad everything. Everything was pointing towards #1 cyl. Finally pulled plug and temp replaced it with one of the old ones and the enging ran fine. These were new plugs. Out with Champion and bact to Autolite.

I also put champions in my 8n and it ran rough after awhile. They did'nt have many hours of running on them. I switched to Autolite. I think they are a better plug.

At my Ford dealership over the years we have had alot of trouble with Ford running on Champion plugs our service dept gets calls from Ford owners
wanting to know why there vehicle runs so bad after it was tuned up at a local independant garage
the first thing we ask them what type plugs did they put in 99 percent of the time they say Champion we tell them thats your problem most people do not believe us but for some reason Ford just do not run right with champions you need to use Autolite or Motorcraft.

I had a bad experience whith Champion plugs over ten years ago in a lawnmower. I would not buy another one unless it was the only one on the shelf and the clock was ticking...then I would buy several because I have found them to be inferior to anything else and know they will fail you. Champion may have been recommended 50+ years ago but they are not what they use to be.

Local auto-parts store carries them, but says they are the worst plug he carries. Foul them once and they are done.

Same thing happen to me on a 1952 Chevy truck I had. I was stumped as to why my truck ran so terrible after the tune-up. Go figure.
