I move them all the time with mine and they are about 1100 to 1200 pounds but I make it a point not to try to pick them up unless I have to because it will only lift them about 10 or 12 inches and thats it. It's realy hard on the tractor so what I do is take the three point hay stinger and ram it in the bail just as if I were going to pick it up and when its in all the way I wrap a chain around the bale and hook it to the upper arm and drag it any where I want to go with no problem and it's easy on the tractor. If you pull it without the stinger the bale roles and flops around while you are pulling it.

I only put a little pressure on it to take up any slack or if it hangs on somthing or I need to back up a little. Check all your fluids and look for bubbles or moister. Check all your pins and three point parts and never get going down hill with pressure on that bale you may miss your turn!!

Dear Neubie..... ...Unfortunately, the N's 3-point cat-1 hydraulic system has such a short wheelbase, that its frontwheels start flappin' innna breeze at about 750#. Most roundbales of hay generally start north of about 1000#. The N-Tractor is NOT CAPABABLE of most roundbale spear moving.

Howsomevers; they make a "doodle-bugg" 2-wheel trailer with a scorpion stinger over-reaching the roundbale and the N's short wheelbase makes manuvering very eazy and has more than enuff power to pull a 2000# roundbale of hay. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures or manufactures of these simple doodle-buggs. They're the way to go, infact you can even tow them behind yer pick'em-up down the highway..... .....Dell
