I can't find the torque spec for trany to hydrolic case nor tranny to the engine. Does some one know the recomended spec. Is it recommeded to apply locktight to these bolts? I have the cd of manuals for the tractor but cant seem to find the listings for these bolts. I also would like to know the trick to compress the clutch plate to install wedges before i attempt to install it. I cant look in my fo-4 manual it some how sprouted legs. Thanks Rip

Rip..... ...really NO NEED for them wooden wedges iff'n you use yer tranny input shaft as a pilot to center yer clutchplate BEFORE you bolt yer pressureplate onto the flywheel. TIP: ittza 4-bolt 15-minute job to remove yer tranny input shaft and while you've gotter removed REPLACE yer tranny input shaft seal ($3, cheap). 7/16-14 clutch/engineblock bolts 55 ft/lbs..... ..Dell

Tranny mounting bolts go 53-60 ft-lbs. You don"t need any locktite.
The trick installing those wedges is to install them before you unbolt the clutch from the pressure plate.
Good luck with that.

Thanks for the torque spec. I have replaced all clutch parts with new plus the main shaft. I"ll use my old shaft for alingment. I"ll use new grade 8 bolts on pressure plate after I chase the holes with a tap. Thanks Rip

Look close at the clutch release shaft. It"s has the throwout bearing fork mounted on it and one end goes out to hook to the pedal. Check the bushing in the tranny housing on each end of that shaft. The right-side wears out. Then, hold the shaft so it can"t turn and tug hard on the fork to see if it moves on the shaft. If it"s moving on the shaft at all, you need to pull the pin and see why. You might pull the pin and look-see anyway. The hole in that shaft wobbles out. Any movement of that fork on the shaft is lost throwout bearing travel so the bearing can never fully depress the clutch fingers and that means the clutch might not completely disengage.
