When repacking the front wheel bearings on my 8n I noticed the inside greese seal had been put in with the rubber to the outside. The result is that the inside bearing has a lot of back and forth wiggle room....is this normal?

Are you sure the lug nut on the outside of the axle shaft is tight enough? While jacked up off the ground and with new bearings, the wheel should spin easily, but with some resistance - it shouldn't free spin all day. If the nut is too loose it could cause the bearings to be loose and a little wobbily. I assume you replaced the bearing races when you replaced the bearings. Castor.

The inner seal on the front wheels is supposed to have the rubber AWAY from the wheel. It should be thick enough to snug up the bearings when you tighten up the big nut under the grease cap.

Good luck,
Dan
