Bought a new TSC muffler today Actually made in USA. How does the clamp go? Wide side to manifold narrow to pipe or vice versa?

Yep, big side down, like Rob sez. Don't forget to use Never-Sieze on the nuts. And, inspect the flange on the exhaust pipe; a little dent or kink, and it will leak!

Narrow on the manifold. There"s a trick to get the pipe tight in the clamp. You assemble it just short of snug and then hold up on the clamp as you tighten the bolts. It needs to be up around that smooth part of the manifold. If you do that the clamp with pull everything together, lift the pipe up hard against the joint, and pull itself down snug and the joint will not be floppy.
Do it right and that joint is rock steady and will not leak.

OK Thanks guys. Really didn't need a new exhaust untill yesterday when I hung the muffler on a branch in the woods and it pulled bent and deformed the flange end.
