Best place for parts?

Who has the best deals on parts in general for 2N tractors? A lot of things I want to replace with new because they have wear issues and I don't want to replace old with old(er). Other things I would like to replace with good used, like parts of my 3 pt hitch that are bent or broken.
Do any stores carry N parts? Best prices on internet? Good scrap yards in SE Michigan? Lots of questions, I know, but I am going to start fiddling with this 2N next week and want to know where to go for the necessaries.

By the way, I know I made a lot of cracks about overrated and underpowered tractors a few months back when I first contemplated taking this tractor in trade (and you guys were great about it then) but I just want to say that I have been reading the N board since I got the tractor two weeks ago and have been impressed with the help I and others have been getting. This is a very nice forum. I look forward to a pleasant summer working on the 2N.....even if it is short a few N's. :-)

You have 2 Red Belly specialists right in your area. Skips at Hamburg and Marvin Bauman in Monroe. Both sell parts. Also the folks that sponsor this forum but you will find UPS from the west coast will hurt both time and dollar wise. Don and Derick in Shelby, NC sell about any new part and many used ones too. Local NH dealer will have many parts and if you ask questions tactfully the parts man may direct you to a nearby bone yard that has old Ford Tractor parts too.

I would stay away from TSC catalogue parts. Ordered a complete kit for my 8N at a good price. When it arrived all parts in box were marked China or Taiwan. I assumed they would be USA but I was wrong. Also bought a rebuilt starter for a Farmall from that looked nice but had a dead short. Fixed it myself rather than pay big shipping to return it. Poor quality and poor workmanship on rebuilds.

Right now I am only looking to rebuild parts of the three point hitch so that I can safely mount an implement. I can get the tractor moving but have not tried it with a load. It came with a big brush mower and when I took this off I noticed the left side leveling arm had been welded and was cracked. I need to replace this arm and possibly the other side too with the crank. If possible I would like to buy used on these iron parts and save the big money for sheet metal, engine, and paint. $50 seemed like a lot for a short piece of iron but if I have to I have to. On my Farmall, parts like that are easy to find used and they are as good or better than original. Not having much luck on this little N.

I see those 2 parts, specifically, listed on eBay, quite often. Both new and salvaged...

I'll be watching ebay for it. If one doesn't come up soon I'll just pop for the new one. THEN watch them flood ebay with them! I need to get this old girl to work and want a good safe 3 pt.
Can't tell what ails her until I get her working.

Appreciate all the responses! :-)

The handcrank is reproduced.. and you can find them used.. I imagine 50$ is a good ballpark.. can't see ya getting it cheaper unless you pull it yourself from a junkyard.

You might be able to weld/adapt another tractors adjustable lift arm.. but for the money saved, and the time to modify the non oem one.. I'd get a real deal used/new repro.

I was mainly refering to castings, and front axle members, etc.

I realize that the small bvolt on parts are readilly available.

Just no time. My day job is hectic right now. Still working on the end of the month ( accounting) for march, and trying to run april. Had a computer switchover which fouled everything up. Plus the internet service has been patchy for about the last week.

Add to that, that we 'let go' 3 guys from my night job, so the rest of us are doubling up on shifts. I have been working 21 days straight almost half of them doubles.., and have to wait until next sunday to get a single day off... I'm a bit worn around the edges you might say... Why? my spelling getting worse? (GRIN)
