I put in about 3 gallons of hydro fluid when it started dripping from the hole on the right side. If the capacity is about 4.5 gallons, what's happening? I put in in very slowly, too.

Firing order is 1-2-4-3 from radiator towards the rear of the tractor. If you look at the distributor cap, #1 is at 10 o'clock, #2 is at 8 o'clock, #4 is at 4 o'clock, and #3 is at 2 o'clock., so 1-2-4-3 counter clockwise on the distributor cap.

Whoops, sorry, wrong post.

As for your oil, you probably have a lot of sludge and/or leftover oil in the bottom of the tranny. Did you open up all 3 drain plugs? A lot of people don't realize that you have to drain the rear end with 3 different plugs. Should be two big cast iron hex plugs and one 1/2" pipe plug under the differential.
