third party image

I wanted to post this picture back at Christmas when everyone was wishing everyone else & their families holiday greetings, but the pictures were in a different format & I couldn't get them to work. But on a quiet Friday afternoon at work, I figured it out.

Maybe it's better this way, as these men & women are over there year round, not just at Christmas time. I know that many Americans on these forums are current or former service men/women, and more of you probably have family who are serving. We Canadians may have sat this one out, but I for one don't take their sacrifices for granted. They have a job to do, and they do it better than anyone else in the world (my opinion).

So Christmas wishes are all well and good, but here's a springtime wish.

God Bless

Gary

Bruce said it best. My two stepsons both served in Iraq. My favorite pic is the oldest looking out Sadam's hidey hole. He had been going on lots of raids at night. His dirty face said it all. My youngest stepson is currently still serving and is due to get rotated back again. The oldest honorably discharged and working just attended his 2nd daughters birth last night. His first was born while he was in Tikrit. I guess I will have to rethink my opinion of some of you Canadians now. Former USN 1st gulf war. Thanks. trg

First, thank you, Gary. Nobody will win a Pulitzer for that picture, but it reflects war just as vividly to me as the usual stuff. The individual views of Canadians aren't always reflected in the government's decisions, any more than our government reflects the views of the individual here. And by Canadians, I include the Quebecois. (if I could spell it)
