In an attemp to get rid of the stock tri tread tires on my 9N, I got some 8N hubs. The question is I would like to put 15 or 14 inch rims (easier to fine tires that fit) to mount street tires so the the lawn doesn"t get dug up when I have to drive on it. What will fit? My neighbor has 14"s on his but can"t remember what the rims are off of. Thanks

Scott,

One of my 9Ns has modified wheels that use 15" car tires and still fit the large bolt pattern hubs. They've been sandblasted and painted and have good tires mounted. I would happily trade for 4.00 x 19 wheels and tires. Where are you? I'm in northern Ohio.

George
Not meaning to hijack this thread but I have a set of 19" tires & rims on my 2N that I would gladly trade if Scott isn't interested.
I am in SE Michigan.
E-Mail me if interested.

Scott,
Don"t know where you"re located. This site has the 6x6" wheels but do a web search for "implement wheels" to find something more local.

I got mine at Miller tire here on the net. They were $42.00. I bought 15" X 6 , 6 on 6, and use steel belted car or truck tires, they are cheap used. I mow lots and pastures here in Texas and the steelbelts turn thorns. I forgot what an inner tube was till I had to get some new rear tires last year. If I ruin a front one I am back to work for $20.00. I dont even have the guys balance them cause I dont ever run fast.

Thanks, Joe in reply to Joe Crawford, 04-17-2005 18:44:22
I appreciate another source. Right now, Miller is a bit expensive to ship out here, but sometimes exactly what I want isn't available where I want it.

Do you have the 19 inch rim?? My 8N has 16 inch rims and I put 16-235 tires on it from my truck and they work well

I'm not shure what will fit but I was wondering if you would like to sell those old 9N tires and rims? My 8N has the tri tread so I don't know what those wide tires are that are on some of the later 8N's.
