Until a couple of months ago, my "39 9N ran perfectly. I had changed over to a 12V negative ground system and given it a full tune up about two years ago. It has probably 20 hours on it since then. It would start on the first try and run smoothly. It always seemed to be running on 3 cylinders, though, until it warmed up. A couple of months ago, I took the tractor over to my neighbor"s house. She wanted to play a trick on her son, who was turning 16 and wanted a car. I parked the tractor in the driveway and enjoyed the prank. I left it there for a couple of days while I was away on a trip. When I returned, the tractor would not start. After extensive troubleshooting, I confirmed spark and fuel, but could only get it started on one cylinder. Any suggestions? Could it be timing (front-mount distributor) or stuck valves? Guess I need to check the spark plug wire order, although I was the only one to work on the machine and kept everything as it was when it was working. Thank you in advance for your assistance! The book doesn"t cover this unusual situation.
