Even though you removed one pivot at a time on your tranny, the shifter plates will slide down when you remove the bolt. I had my shifter cover off and still took 30 minutes to get both shifter plates in place when I replaced all the guts in my NAA. They are very tricky to get lined up and in place, and you have to hold your tongue just right. I am guessing the one or both shifter plates are not secured on one or both sides. On your steering, I am sure the sleeve length is correct, you probably just screwed the tie rods in too much. Normally, you turn all the way to one side, then count the number of turns on your steering wheel to turn all the way to the other side, then turn back half that much and it "should" put you centered straight ahead. Then you can adjust your tie rods to make both wheels point straight ahead. Problem is, if your wheels lock up on the axle, you may not be able to find true straight ahead because you have too much toe in. I would remove both front tie rods, do the proceedure I described above, keep your steering wheel from moving once centered, then re-install the tie rods and align the front wheels. Good luck, Dan
