I plowed 1/2 acre and now I can't shift without it grinding. I push on the clutch pedal and it goes down mauc easier than it did before and will not let me shift without grinding. The tractor has been sitting in the Pole Shed all winter.

Although not yet on my Jubilee, that problem happens once a year or so on my Farmall and usually is just the clutch needing to be adjusted again. However the "slot and a bolt" clutch adjustment was easy to get loosened up on the Farmall, not so on the Ford. Still, check the free play and adjust the linkage to see if it could be that easy.

Meiller..... ..iff'n yer clutch pedal pushes down eazy now, yer return springs probable broke-off. This is going to be engine/tranny split to fixx. A weekend job for average shadetree mechanic. Consult yer I&T FO-4 repair manual. And while ya gotts yer tractor split, replace yer tranny inputshaft seal. $3 (cheap) ...or... haul it into a tractor repair shop for $400 repair. yer call..... ....respectfully, Dell

Sounds like the famous clutch does not disengage problem. My 49 is doing that to. Usually standing on the brakes and clucth running she'll pop loose. I have had the same problem starting, just stand on the brakes, have a clear path and go for it. The previous owner wired up a new starter switch so it can be started in gear, see problem solved! (that's scarry). This 49 had sat for a long time and gets better each time I run it. Planning on splitting it this summer after school is out and investigating further.
