Question on Tractor Shows

My wife, daughter, and I breed and show dogs so I know the procedure for dog show entries but I have never entered a tractor show before. What is the procedure or is it just show up the day of the show?

My 79 year old father and I are about half way through a complete restoration of a 1941 9N and we have set a goal of having it ready to go for the Sandwich, IL show which will feature Fords and Fordsons on June 25, 26.

Any words of wisdom from experienced tractor exhibitors or even anyone that has gone to one will be appreciated.

Thanks all. I really enjoy this board.

Paul K.

Don,

It is just SW of Aurora, IL on US34 about half way between Aurora and Mendota. It is easy to get to from I-80 from the East or West and I-39 from the North or South.

Jope to see you there.

As others said, just show up. Sometimes they have separate gate for those with exhibits vs. regular customers, and normally exhibitors don't pay to enter, and probably your entire vehicle's occupants can get in free, at least my experience. Sometimes they have elaborate traffic direction (far exceeding the laid back demeanor of the rest of the show) courtesy of local national guard, etc., so just follow signs and directions for unloading your tractor. Parking for trailers is often in a separate area.

Paul,
Good luck to you and your Dad on the tractor... and the show.
Click the link and at the bottom of the page is a "contact" link. Someone there can give you more definite info.

I just called and asked the very question to our local show hosts.
They told me to come early and sign in, park the tractor then use the remaining time to help them set up!
Sounds pretty relaxed. Not sure how early I will be. hehe

When I take my Allis Chalmers to a show I just show up early. They are usually glad to have one more.
