I"m new to tractors, have a 9n and a 4" brush hog. Purchased an ORC but this extended the shaft so I cannot attach the brush hog drive shaft. Whats the simplest solution? Thanks for your suggestions.

Renzo..... .....most find the 5-ft brushhog to be a BETTER match for N-Tractors. I'd recommend you take yer 4-ft back and trader in for a 5-ft. Good tractor implement dealer do that.

You do realize that the brushhog PTO shaft is made to be cut shorter to fit, don't you? Simply slide the PTO shaft apart and cut equal ammounts (about 3") of each end. Dress with a file. Cut the same ammount off the sliding plastic safety shield. Putter back together. Simple, eh?

YES, use the ORC..... ....Dell, yer self-appointed ORC Safety Preacher

I use a 4 ft brush hog with my
9N and I am pleased with it's
operation. Most of the time
I cruise around in 2nd gear without
having to increase the rpm much above idle.
I even got my wife interested in doing some of the fields herself..
I did not have to shorten the drive
as the ORC is as antique as the tractor
and does not seem to add to the shaft.
