Hey guys. Being new to the 8N world, I'm a little on the shy side of having enough facts to make a good judgement on value of a tractor. How about some more opinions?
The tractor is 8N7006. I would be fourth owner, all bill of sales present. Original paint, still in reasonable shape, maybe even good. Original red is still very good, just needs washing/degreasing. Mechanically very good except for left brake. Busted seal-fluid-we know the rest. Starts easily, runs smooth...love that flathead. Tool kit with tools in metal box in hood. Original radiator cap. Gauges work. All original parts, that I can tell except waterpump. Replaced with "identical ford part replacement" by local Ford tractor dealer in 1997. Comes with a Woods L59 mower deck that was supposedly purchased with the tractor. Only used as a lawnmower until 1995-uh huh.
I know that the value is subjective, but take a wag and try to give me a range.
Many thanks.

Tyler,
As mentioned: Location, location, location.
D'ya wanna "Trailer Queen" or a workin TRACTOR?
Trailer queen material probably could command $3500 or more in the shape you describe. Dell is about right fer workin tractors and he's even a little low for this area.

No Queens or showboats. Everything around here has to earn its keep, even me..... It either works, has sentimental value, legal obligation or is trading goods.

I'm looking for a working tractor to manage 15-20 acres of hilly and wooded terrain. Bushhog about 10 acres, grade a steep gravel drive, pull a wagon for fence and field work. Is it to much to ask?

An 8N will do all you list, but be careful on the hills as it does not have roll over protection and can't take too steep a grade.

Good luck,
Dan

Tyler..... ..would you believe 8N-7005 is the PART NUMBER for the tranny case? (sometime 5's look like 6's)

Non-the-less, as described, sounds like an 8N in excellent condition, value in the $3000+ range. Centermount mower probably adds $500+ to value. Most good runnin' 8N's are $2000-2500 range depending upon condition of rear tires and buyers LUST for them cute little ol'Ford tractors.

Year of manufacture depends upon the engine s/n which is on a 1x4 flat boss on the left side of the engine underneath the seam of the cylinderhead gasket, aft of the oilfilter canister bracket. Year of manufacture is of little importance to value except to sphincterly challenged buyers..... ...respectfully, Dell

I agree. Most of the time you can pick up a tractor like that for 2300-2500. Add the mower and the price goes up. Hey pitch- Im in Canandaigua.

Values are so subjective. These parts it is generally the wrong time of year to buy a tractor. What you are describing would probably go for 22 to 2800 around here.
In the pennysaver this week I see a "Ferguson TO 35 with implements 3500", also "To settle estate "Ford 2N totally restored, new factory motor clutch and plate tires brakes and receipts for all driven only in parades since restored $3000.00" Both seem to me to be 500.00 to high but they probably will get close to the asking.
