Pacrac..... ....iff'n I understand yer complaint correctly, when you say "won't crank"; that means to me the starter motor won't turn. 'course iff'n starter motor won't turn, engine won't start. The 8N 3-terminal roundcan starter solenoid is electrically hot internally from the battery and is operated by GROUNDING the little middle hard-to-gitt-to terminal by the BIG tranny shifter thumb switch. Simple test, externally ground yer tranny thumb screw with screwdriver blade with tranny in NEUTRAL. Starter turns yes? gotta bad tranny thumb switch. NO? yer skinny starter solenoid wire maybe BAD. Next test; externally ground yer tranny solenoid little middle terminal with a screwdriver blade with tranny in NEUTRAL. Starter turns yes? gotta BAD tranny shifter wire. NO? probably a BAD starter solenoid. LAST TEST; with tranny in NEUTRAL, JUMP yer starter solenoid BIG TERMINALS with a battery jumper cable ...or... I'd use a pair of pliers handles. Starter turns yes? DEFINATELY BAD 3-terminal roundcan starter solenoid. NO? most likely yer starter motor itself. Simple, eh?..... .....respectfully, Dell
