Per John Smith's web site the I beam radius rods indicate the tractor was made before mid-year 1944. That is when they were changed to oval tubing for subsequent production.

RR, one more thing. I've looked at several War Time tractors trying to figure out what year they were and often times they don't add up. I've read were the mid 40s were built out of the parts department as much as they were assembly line. You could very well have one of those.

RR..... ...ALL 2N engine s/n start 9N. s/n 177664 is listed as a 1945 2N engine. As you should know ALL N-Engines are fully interchangeable from 1939 to 1952. And unless yer sphincterally challenged, serial numbers don't really mean much. There are VERY FEW tractor parts that are serial number specific and iff'n there is, its a very noticable change. (not sumptin that is detected only by micrometer).

I have NO KNOWLEDGE of N-Engine values except a fresh rebuilt engine sells for about $1500 and a engine rebuild kit sells for about $400. My sense of value sez: pay NO-MORE than 1/2 value of NEW, 'cuz might as well buy NEW and gitt the guarentee..... ...Dell
..... ...respectfully, Dell

RR, sounds like 1945 engine probably had a engine swap. Good blocks in this area are $450 to $550. Oil pans are cheap at about $35.00...thanks, Kelly.
