Starts, runs, idles so slow it makes me tired just listening to it. I did not adjust the main needle but it seems like the books and posts kind of indicate this is determined by the work it will do. I want to do that last adjustment in the I&T manual for the main needle and call the carb job as done for now. Is that "all" there is to it? (For those of you who typed hard helping me get thru this, "all" is intended as a joke!)

Hi Ken, I won't adjust it anymore but I'll never forget it. Make me feel good??? Can't put it into words. There is nothing like the feeling that you fixed something in a throw away world. Although I may have pushed my luck on the number of posts. I was expecting to be offered my own forum! We are in Brighton MI down between Lansing and Detroit off I96. I am not actually an N Ford guy but fell into this little 2N. Frankly it is a tractor I will never forget because it is teaching me so much. It is the only tractor out of three that I can spare for weeks at a time while I figure out what to do to make it run right, lol. It is fairly forgiving of my goofs. I also have a 1989 Ford 1520 that is my right arm around the house and a Farmall SMTA that I use to run a small hay operation for the local horse crowd. The 2N is really giving me a leg up on keeping the rest working. Especially the Farmall. That is the scoop on me in a nutshell. I thought I was getting an 8N when the tractor was offered to me and was in a little bit of a snit when I discovered I had been hoodwinked, but don't regret it now as this is a really easy tractor to understand compared to some. Best regards, Dave.

I suspect not getting the throttle plate centered back in place is a common problem with rebuilding these carburetors! I'm glad you got your's worked out!

Thanks Bob! Actually it was something you said in one of your posts yesterday that really set off the bells in my head and I went right to it after that. It sounds real nice and it is actually fun to drive now....but it has a problem and can't be worked so stand by for a another project. :-)
