New tractor owner and took off the rear tire on my Jubilee, ffound one side had been filled with something? What could it be? Is it wise to run with one filled and not the other one? Thanks Den

I found the same thing this spring with my NAA and drained about 25 gal of CaCl out. I put it in several containers so each wasn't too heavy and took it to my friendly ag dealer who was more than happy to pump it off for reuse. Steve

Either fill the empty one or drain the filled one, if you don't you could be looking for big trouble. You cna flip a tractor a lot easyer that way then with them either both filled or both empty. Believe me I know I almost did so when I had the same thing on my 801, tractor slid sideways with the filled tire down hill and the other tire went up in the air. I got lucky it olny came up about a foot or so. The next day I filled the empty tire with fluid.

There was plain water in both of my NAA tires, so draining was easy (I just watered the grass). If calcium chloride is in yours, disposal may be a little more tricky. I would not run a tractor with hundreds of pounds of ballast in one tire and not the other.

Good luck,
Dan

What is the best way to drain the tire?

As Russ said - CaCl will kill vegitation. If it is just water, I removed my valve stem with the valve rotated to the bottom of the rim, and just watered my grass for a few days in that spot. It takes much longer if you don't have it pumped out, and I periodically put some air in the tire to increase the pressure pushing the water out.

Good luck,
Dan

Dennis,
Ain't no GOOD way. Find out if it's water or something else. Calcium chloride is salty, antifreeze is green or blue, water just stale.
If it's CaCl, find a big place that needs weed killer. Green antifreeze needs to be disposed of with care. Blue is USUALLY safe to just dump.
I used an air chuck from the chinese tool store with a thumb lever to keep it on the valve. Attached a hose to it into a bucket. When the pressure got down, took it off and put more air in. When it got down near the bottom, took the tire off and leaned it over. Slow process, but it will get all but the last gallon.
Russ
