Does anyone know how I can be sure what tractor I have? I have a four didgit number on the left side of the engine block and I also have what looks like a serial number on the left axle housing, along with a date. Does anyone know where I can find information to be sure what tractor I have?

The only numbers i can find on the left side of the block is this number C197, but I found another number on the left side rear axle housing the number is 2N4015A23A and just above it is a date 3-12-47 could this be the serial number and maufacturers date?

2NB,
The 4015 number is a part number for the axle housing. Since your engine casting date and the casting date on the axle match quite closely, it's a safe bet the whole tractor is a 1947 2N.

That C197 indicates March (C) 19th 1947..
