There's an old N series tractor in a nearby town that has a factory two speed rear end. When did this happen and was this Ford's answer to the Sherman transmission? The owner claims that it is stock and once was an airport tug.

If it was a tug, it is possible that it had a pulling gear and a transport gear. don't know why anyone would convert a tug to a tractor as most of them did not have a 3 pt hitch or a PTO, but I suppose anything is possible.
